That is, it takes less work for our brain to energy from them than carbs. ![]() Ketones from MCT Oil are a more efficient source of energy for our brain too. Ketones easily cross the typically impenetrable blood-brain barrier and easily get into our brains. Since oils marketed as “MCT oil” contain either a combination of Capric and Caprylic acid, or just concentrated Caprylic acid, they are a faster and more usable source of energy since they often don’t contain Lauric Acid, which acts like a combination long chain and medium chain fatty acid in the body and slows digestion. Unfortunately during this process, lauric acid is typically left behind, or can only be found in miniscule amounts this is because lauric acid is technically a psudeo-MCT, so it won’t be found in most MCT oils. This is done by a machine that extracts all of the medium chain fatty acids from the source. While medium chain fatty acids do occur naturally in foods (such as coconut oil), MCT oil itself is not found in nature, which means it instead needs to be manufactured. This makes it less effective than many of the other MCT oils in terms of energy benefits however, lauric acid has amazing antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiviral benefits. In short, it’s easy to digest and convert to energy.Ĭ12 (Lauric Acid) – Composing about 50% of coconut oil, lauric acid is considered an MCT, but behaves like a LCT because it must visit our liver before being turned into energy. Despite being a ready source of ketone energy for your body, it has been found to cause throat irritation and gastrointestinal distress.Ĭ8 (Caprylic Acid) – This is a rare type of MCT (only 6% of coconut oil) and useful for energy via ketone metabolism.Ĭ10 (Capric Acid) – Another major MCT is C10, which is approximately 10% of coconut oil and is considered a useful tool for energy metabolism because (like other MCTs) does not require bile salts for digestive purposes. I did like the jeans a lot, other than my big gut-lol.Be Sure to Subscribe for 3x Videos Per Week!Ĭoconut Oil vs MCT Oil: Benefits and Safety of Each: Thomas DeLauer.Ĭ6 (Caproic Acid) – There isn’t a high quantity of C6 fatty acids in coconut oil, which might be a good thing. I had a muffin top so I'm going to get going with the exercising and try again in a few weeks. ![]() I went and tried the sweetheart fit jeans on tonight. Thank you for the DVD recommendation (and thanks for yours too Serena!) I'm going to check them out while I wait for LO to wake up and eat. so I can't speak to the effectiveness yet, although hubbie says he notices a difference (what a sweetie!) Yup, the BeFit Mom DVD goes over how to engage the deepest ab muscles so that you build up strength in the right order (so as not to have a 6-pack on top of a tummy pooch! and not hurt your back) It also covers how to do kegels properly. Just looking for a guide so that I'm not wasting my time or doing any damage to my lower back. Um, wtf? Seriously? I'll fit that in between the bon-bon eating and the weekly facials-lol. When I asked him what the right way is, he couldn't show me but said ideally, I should work with a trainer at a gym. ![]() it had good reviews on Amazon and people said it took about a month to lose the belly pooch)ĭoes your dvd include the correct way to do sit-ups/crunches? My doc said I need to be doing them, but that I need to do them the right way. I'm going to try and not buy new jeans which might decrease my motivation to shed those extra lbs! I start back to work next week and I'm planning to use the BeBand or an elastic band around the button of the jeans to get me back into my pre-pregnancy clothes. I'm in the same boat - those extra 5lbs are making all my jeans too tight! I can zip button them, but it's not pleasant and I don't even want to try sitting.
